The MCY 70 Skylounge offers sporty performance and a pedigree build.
The Monte Carlo Yachts’ vessels are instantly recognizable in any marina, thanks to their distinctive circular hull windows that overlap and are inspired by sport-fish yachts. The MCY 70 Skylounge model features an all-weather helm that doubles as a social area, and everything can be tailored to the owner’s preferences.
During my tour of the MCY 70 Skylounge, I noticed that the yacht is designed for comfortable family cruising. I accessed the yacht via the swim platform, which accommodates a 12-foot tender. Two stairways are situated on either side of the transom, leading to the aft deck. The twin-pedestal wood dining table on the aft deck has a transom settee and casual chairs for outdoor dining, protected by the flybridge overhang.
Inside, the cabinetry and furnishings have a low profile, allowing for unobstructed views from the bow to the stern. The 43-inch-high-by-8-foot-long windows provide panoramic views, and the bulwarks have been lowered to enhance the view of the ocean. The forward windshield has a center pane and curved side glass for clear sightlines. As the helm station is situated on the flybridge, there is more living space on the main deck. The salon seating comprises an L-shaped settee to port and two armchairs.

The galley, located forward and to port, features a four-burner induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer drawers. The adjacent dining table can accommodate six to eight guests, keeping them within earshot of the chef.
The yacht’s volume feels substantial throughout the main deck, with 6-foot-8-inch headroom, light fabrics and leathers, recessed LED lighting, and windows in all directions. A starboard-side door enables crew to move fore and aft without passing through the salon. The optional day-head can be installed aft, or the space can be used for storage.
In the salon’s starboard aft corner, there is a staircase leading down to the master stateroom, as well as a steel staircase with floating glass steps up to the skylounge. The Italian design team of Nuvolari Lenard created a truly comfortable space in the skylounge. The center helm seat is flanked by guest bench seats, and there are sliding side windows for fresh air when desired. The electric sunroof and aft doors can be opened, transforming the enclosed bridge into a breezy oasis.
The flat helm console houses rocker switches, thruster joysticks, MAN low-profile electric throttles, and other systems. Three Garmin multifunction displays are in individual pods, adding to the unrestricted visibility forward. The sofa and ottoman to port are perfect for stretching out after a long run.
Aft on this deck, there is an outdoor space with several chairs and cocktail tables, protected from the wind and secure within welded railings.

The full-beam master stateroom belowdecks has a king berth on centerline with a wraparound headboard, pearl-white lacquer walls, and 6-foot-8-inch headroom. This stateroom is a hideaway place with a portside sofa, starboard vanity/desk, and flush-mounted 43-inch TV. The en suite head has an oversized marble shower stall with a seat and rain shower, a walk-in closet, and a washer/dryer in the staircase foyer for easy living on extended voyages.
The other three guest staterooms are forward, consisting of a forepeak VIP and a pair of twins. The VIP has a queen berth and an en suite head with a tiled shower stall. The twin-berth staterooms can convert to doubles, and an en suite head in the port room serves them both.
In conclusion, the MCY 70 Skylounge is a yacht that combines elegant design and functionality for comfortable family cruising. From the spacious aft deck with alfresco dining, to the all-weather helm and entertaining space on the flybridge, this yacht offers a variety of options for enjoying life at sea. With its panoramic views, low-profile furnishings, and customizable interior, the MCY 70 Skylounge is a testament to Monte Carlo Yachts’ commitment to personalization and attention to detail. Whether cruising with family or entertaining guests, this yacht provides a comfortable and luxurious experience for all on board.
